Located on the campus of the University of Arizona, the NRAO Tucson office is located within the building which houses the Department of Astronomy and Steward Observatory. Located across the street from NRAO Tucson and the Department of Astronomy are the offices of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory and the Department of Plantary Sciences Lunar and Planetary Laborabory. ATF site images. A major project of the NRAO Tucson and Socorro staff is the ALMA Test Facility (ATF). The ATF is the test bed upon which the ALMA prototype antennas will be evaluated. Each of the prototype antennas will be evaluated using a uniform set of criteria which gauge their relative performance. Evaluation tests will conclude in 2004.

NRAO Tucson is also involved in a wide array of other ALMA development activities.
